The 2FA (two factors authentication) now required by most Supercomputing centre is going to determine by definitive existing from this business as this is a nice way to entirely ruin by day.

What? I'm not sure I can guess what you tried to say...

@tobychev
That in order to access my new allocation, on a supercomputing centre I am using since 2005, I had to spend one hour downloading a chain of new programs to handle several layers of encriptions and password generations and QR codes scanning etc.
And I should do the same procedure if I need to connect from a 2nd pc - which surely won't have all necessary software for this installed.
And that the procedure will still require me to do scan a QR code every day just to do ssh.😩

@franco_vazza
You have to scan a QR every time?! For the clusters I've used the scan was only needed to connect a 2fa app to my account, after that the app could generate 1 time codes independently.

I have a bank where I need to scan every time, but then the app that scan is also all I need to authenticate. Having to scan and then input a ssh password sounds very tedious...
