Cooperatives are the Maginot Lines of social struggle. You can't beat capital by walling yourself off from it. Eventually it'll go around.

Mostly depressing reading in my view.
Also, I don't think co-ops really "wall off" from capitalism in any noteworthy way, most companies don't run their everyday internal work on market principles either.
@tobychev yes, those kinds of cooperatives are just normal companies with slightly different management structures, and they compete and survive based on capitalist markets.
