Trump's unfathomable victory says more about America's shift to the Far Right, than Trump's abilities as a world leader.
We've been here before & it's like those who died in WW2 in the defence of freedom & against #Fascism & tyranny, died in vain.
I am truly shocked & deeply saddened... 😥

Personally I wasn't so surprised, in my online circles the polling was described as very close.
And obviously Trump has already been elected once so it's not really something unthinkable, just depressing. I guess it also helps that Biden proved to be a throughoutly disappointing world leader, in practice just making US foreign policy appear more normal but not really breaking in substance from what Trump provided.
For example, the US returned to the Paris agreement, but only to do the bare minimum to rank above Saudi Arabia and in practice holding the process up from behind the scenes.
The Liberal media had #Kamala out in front, or even, but all within the margin of error. However, every time I listened to established media, they called the race as #Trump just ahead, but within the margin of error.
The result was rather more emphatic than that & was exacerbated by the electoral college. I saw this graphic the other day, which shows an interesting racial divide.
It looks like #America still isn't ready to elect a female leader, especially one who's Black. 🤷🏾♂️

I haven't read any complete analysis yet (since good analysis takes time and I'm not informed enough to safely read the quick takes), but from the glimpses I've seen it appears like it indeed was quite close where it mattered (lots of lost democrat votes in places that Harris won anyway), and the big gap in electorates is mostly the usual first past the post distortion.
Like how labour did a landslide recently but got less popular votes than Corbyn when he lost big (I think, but don't rely on my recall of a tweet from three months ago).

There's one reason for hope though, Trump is quite willing to sell himself to *anyone*, so if you have the cash he could be in your pocket instead of Musk's.

True. I suppose it's the upside of having a Commander in Chief for sale... 🙃
