A colleague in #astronomy got a suspicious message from his post-doc, asking for urgent sending of money.
Obviously a scam, but he had to be sure of the identity of who was on the other side.
How?
He asked via whatsapp about the Dpp diffusion coefficient of cosmic rays 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
...the test failed.

How did he formulate the question? Was it a straightforward "Prove you're really post-doc1, what is the D_{pp}"? Or did he word it more delicately?
And what happened to the real post-doc? Did their phone get stolen?
@tobychev I don't know the detail! but the phone was not stolen at all, just someone that intercepted somehow is number and his contacts
