I suspect that humans simply have a hard-coded propensity for xenophobia, to a varying degree from one individual to another. So when migration increases a lot of us just go apeshit. People aren't great.
I can't deal with all this graceless ugly stupidity, this world full of schoolyard bullies. I want to retire to a little rural Epicurean commune and avoid the rest.
