Here's the story. A friend – I will call her Caroline – got in touch after a silence of several years. We used to work together back in the day, and had become sort-of-friends. We had stayed in touch through a common friend, who, like me, lives in Brussels. Caroline herself, who lived in the US when we worked together, was now back to France.

Today was a two Karen day, like male and female bookends they were triggered by my riding a bike they "felt" was: A) Odd for a Black person to be riding; (B) Too expensive for a Black person to be riding, so maybe I'd stolen it?; and (C)

A fourth-grader just told me that she goes to Rainbow Club every week because her friend has two dads and no one should be worried about having two dads so why shouldn’t everyone who isn’t “GLB I don’t remember all the letters but you know” also go to Rainbow Club to help the kids who are worried.
