@tonic Layoffs were happening around the sector as a means to safeguard profits, long before msft announced their openai partnership, but the movement and automation potential*of* openai's tools made those layoffs easier to sell and justify.

The "pivot to ai" was always on msft's docket (you can look at their research funding and publications over the past 5 years to see that), but openai's rising star and the broader tech sector layoffs gave them good cover to fire teams they likely wanted to fire anyway.

"Naïve." Mm. Have a good one.

College essay assignment: use ChatGPT to write an essay on the following topic. Print it out and, by hand, grade and critique the essay, showing where it is wrong(based on what we’ve learned in class), inadequate or where the writing is clichéd or otherwise less than excellent human quality.

So I'm writing a paper about how I think my should handle policy concerning

and similar gen models.

What do you think a school policy should be?

One of my professors included in her syllabus a rule that AI is okay to use BUT it must be cited, along with the prompt, result, what was learned, and output must be reworked/paraphrased/summarized but cannot be used "as is" and no quoting AI, because AI cannot author (and we don't know the training sources)

What are your thoughts on this? And what are your thoughts on what a school policy should be? Many schools are trying to block the models.

Just throwing this out there now to raise awareness…University of Florida Biomedical Engineering will likely be holding a search for new department chair in the coming months. If you know a senior bioengineer that would like warmer weather and the chance to lead the most gender and race diverse department of BME in the country (bme.ufl.edu/people/faculty/), have them give me a shout.

In response the the IAEA director's concern over the powerful blasts heard recently near the Zaporizhzhia NPP, Rosenergoatom rep Renat Karchaa called Rafael Mariano Grossi's report a "provocation." The IAEA is just trying to look busy, Karchaa suggests.

I’ve been using ChatGPT to co-write bedtime stories with my daughters. They absolutely love giving prompts like “write a story about two sisters called X and Y who have a puppy. They all go on an adventure and find some glowing crystals that give them superpowers”

Feedback on this app is more than welcome

I think privacy is basically protected in two ways : first it's just a test as is likely the data going in there , second at no point is there personably identifying information that's being asked what i do think my happen is a simple integration between proprietary models' outputs to something HIPAA compliant , like open source rocket.chat

Turns out that Adobe is collecting all of its customers' pictures into a machine learning training set.

This is opt-out, not opt-in so if you use Lightroom, for example, it defaults to adding all of your photos to the set.

If these are unpublished pictures, work-in-progress, etc. they'll still be analysed as soon as they're synced.

I've been using Lightroom to sync photos from my Windows desktop to my iPad. Now I need to reconsider that.

To do this, it is necessary to continue research on their involvement in the climate debate. Additionally, it is important to make sure that the public is aware of their role and what they knew, so that the public can make more informed decisions.
It is also necessary to utilize the knowledge that ExxonMobil had to develop and implement effective policies and strategies to fight climate change. This could include developing strategies to reduce emissions, investing in renewable energy sources, and taking steps to protect vulnerable populations.
## Ways to Learn More
In order to learn more about ExxonMobil's role in the climate debate, it is important to continue research on the issue and to look into their past actions and statements. Additionally, it is important to look into the extent of their knowledge and their involvement in the climate debate.
## Additional Questions to Ask
