Starting from S1. On episode 4. A few quick thoughts:
Man. the 70s were a hell of a drug. All that shag carpet brings back childhood memories.

So bloodless! Modern shows: “And here’s aslow motion replay of the bullet penetrating theintestines… and look, we found half an eyeball mixed in with the brain goo!” Columbo: A shot body produes no blood. You rarely even see the corpse for more than a second or two.

$30,000.00/year is a huge salary.

You know they’re rich (and thus, evil) if they have a car phone.

Ditto any kind of home video surveillance.

Crushed velvet tuxedos.

Everyone smokes. Everyone.

All the “young, sexy” women look like they’re in their 40s to me.

Calling someone by dialing an area code instead of talking to a human operator was a new innovation.

Love seeing “Hey, it’s that guy!” as the killer, victim, or witness.

@LizardSF My ex coined the phrase “murder by most famous”, a rule that works more often than not. I was disappointed in «Midsomer Murders» when Anton Rodgers, as a poor hypochondriac lord, was not even a suspect; that character never gets any fun.

Recently I was somehow amused when Jim Rockford visibly punched 213-555-1212 to ask for a number.
