Another #Columbo LTTP observation.
While I'm still only a few eps into the first season, I've noticed that someone telling Columbo to put out his cigar is usually snooty, condescending, self-righteous, etc. It's used as a negative signifier. Today, of course, it's a negative signifier to show a character smoking anything.
