There was a time when I was visiting a university in Metro Manila in PH as I was inquiring on a straight PhD program.

One that really worries me although the cost did really worry me too 🤣, was the Physics department's philosophy about the importance of imagination and that proverb was from Albert Einstein.

Einstein although is celebrated as one of humanities great genius, is still human and can err on things or perspective. People who are not into Physics does not know that Einstein made a mistake about Quantum Mechanics and that mistake ironically also help prove Quantum Mechanics.

When Einstein gives more importance to imagination than knowledge, he may have that authority and inspiration when he spoke that because the relativity theories came from him. He has the authority.

But logically although imagination helped him a lot on his theories, without knowledge in which logic is a subset, Einstein will never deliver his theories for without logic, those theories will crumble in the face of scientific scrutiny. The mere fact that the relativity theories stand the scrutiny of the scientific method only meant that it was created with a very sound logic.

The proverb, "Imagination is more important than knowledge" is false dichotomy and another blunder of Albert Einstein. Although imagination helped Einstein to realize insights about Physics, logic made him construct his relativity theories. Even his imagination worked with logic and not without it 🤣
