@lps you know that they will use the existence of the fediverse as a defense saying that its competition. Same tactic microsoft made many years ago.
@aproposnix of course they'll use anything to deflect criticism.
While I like reading stories like this the sad part is that this is likely the same people in government that greenlit the mergers of instagram and whatsapp in the first place:(

I'll laugh if they try the "muh competition" line. They probably have the balls to do it too lol.
I'm surprised Google (3x worse imo) isn't on the chopping block instead. Or have I slept on the news cycle?
@torresjrjr @lps @aproposnix Google had anti-trust court hearings a year or two ago, didn't they? The CEO was testifying before the US Congress. Not much came of it, though.
