Domain registrar Gandi announced price increases for .com domains starting in September. This is due to Verisign raising the prices registrars have to pay them for each domain.

I have my only .com domain jlelse.com with Cloudflare, which is the cheapest option, but now renewed it until 2031.

Somehow, though, that’s crazy. What will be in 2031 anyway? Will we still use domains like today? Will there even be an Internet outside of social media platforms? Or will it all be irrelevant anyway, because some environmental catastrophe will have wiped out humanity?
