Since there's absolutely nothing of note happening in the world ("but what about""NOTHING"), this is a perfect time to play video games (I mean, it is, and still would be if there were tons of things happening that are really stressful, but there aren't, so it is). So here's this week's Indie Games On Sale Recommendation Thread.

Nubarron: The Adventure of an Unlucky Gnome is a charming adventure platformer about a gnome cursed to be followed around by a moody cloud. The shifting moods of the cloud pose a variety of interesting challenges. A delightful and inventive game.

Ruya is a gorgeous, sentimental, relaxing puzzle game. The mechanics are standard, but the presentation is wonderful. Scoring is a little obtuse, but it's a delight to play.

Wings of Glass is a strangely beautiful but also frightening 3D platformer adventure. It's kinda janky, but charming, creative, and compelling. Escape and survive in a weird and hostile world.

Feathery Ears is another somewhat janky but still great 3D platformer from the developer of Wings of Glass. Less horror, more dreamy action/adventure. Use your fire sword to slay enemies and save the stars!
store.steampowered.com/app/992

Ageless is an incredible and difficult puzzle-platformer like nothing else. The aging/de-aging mechanic is so unique and creative. A little awkward at times, and the graphics could be better, but it's still amazing.

Midboss by Kitsune Games is a really well made traditional roguelike about being a monster in a dungeon and wanting to climb the ranks. It's got a really clever possession mechanic and lots of difficulty tweaks and options.

Ultra Hat Dimension, also by Kitsune Games, is quirky and strangely cute. Weird puzzles about fitting in and getting punched. A charming retro game.

Newt One is a bright, exuberant, non-violent 3D platformer. This is a friendly, easy game, and there's not a lot of depth or anything, but it's charming. Not for everyone, but I like it.

MagiCat is a cute and fun SNES-style platformer. Tons of levels, bosses, and loads of other great features. And the dialog is thrilling!...j/k, it's just lots of meows.

DERU - The Art of Cooperation is a great co-op puzzle game that demands planning, puzzle-solving, communication, and precision. Quite challenging. And it looks neat.

Raccoo Venture is a mostly straightforward but very charming 3D platformer in Early Access. Not too hard but not too easy either. Does have a few surprises, and lots of secrets to discover. Fun.

Speed Dating for Ghosts is a quirky supernatural dating sim. It's...very weird. And yet...touching. Silly yet thoughtful. Emotional. Introspective. It's just...amazing.

There will be more games tomorrow, and you'll have plenty of time to check them out since nothing is happening that might distract you ("but what about?" NOTHING). 🙃

The Darkside Detective is a great pixel art adventure of supernatural mysteries. The writing is sharp and funny. A new game is coming! Look forward to The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark.

@shietka Yeah, I've played the first season a while ago, enjoyed the quirky humor and the weird game world. I'm looking forward to the second season as well.

@trinsec Yep! I backed the Kickstarter. Although they're not calling it Season 2 anymore because they want it to be clear that you don't have to have played the first one to play the new one.

@shietka Ah! Okay, so what do they generally refer it to besides the title? 'The second game'?

Though I'd think it probably might help if you know the story of the first game? I mean, that one ended with such a huge cliffhanger, I'd be surprised if they didn't continue on with that! I want to know how it ended up with Dooley over there!

@trinsec I checked. I guess they're still considering it Season 2, they just don't use that in the title. also, I haven't finished the first one so I didn't know it ends on a cliffhanger. I just read the announcement about the title change.

@shietka Eh whoops, hopefully I didn't spoil it for you. Though it is vague enough and you'd still need to finish the game in order to get what I was talking about!

(Finish it, it's neat! :D)
