When looking for a new #instance I was briefly tempted by a political activist one. The thing is I'm really not that active, but I also realised it really doesn't matter all that much which instance you're on.

Unless the things you want to post are so niche that you need the protection of a dedicated instance, I think a general one will suit you fine.

I do occasionally post political stuff, but that's in between the nonsense, so I was worried a political instance would get annoyed with me.

I looked at an #art one but none of the instances dealt with contemporary art, only #mastodon specific art or something, and I think there were #writers' instances which I would avoid like the plague.

I'm quite happy with this instance so far, I like the freshness of it. The only drawback is that I *loved* the Bauhaus handle of my previous instance.

To me, that is actually the most important thing: an instance with a cool name.
