@lydiaconwell That is exactly what happened to my previous instance. Well, not sold, but was handed over to someone else to continue it.
Not even a half year later that instance crashed something fierce and was lost. That was some lousy hardware they ran that on, sigh. :P I don't think it'll ever go up again.
What did I want to say with this story? Mm.. maybe that it's just not a guarantee that it'll continue forever.
@lydiaconwell Yeah.
Specs-wise that hardware was fine I believe. It's just that the whole thing was handled rather shoddily.
I guess I should've left when the server was unresponsive for a few days for the umpteenth time and the hoster was off to family business and not responding to emails. Sure, I understand people have a real life, but this was a bit too often and the downtimes too frequent. I guess that was kinda an omen for the crash to come and the lack of communication (still haven't heard anything from him so far).
Ah well, started afresh here and so far it's pretty damn stable which is a relief.
@trinsec Yeah. That's probably worse than it going into the hands of some a-hole or troll. A without-warning crash is pretty crappy.
Still, you can check if the buyer's hardware is up to the job I suppose.
