Well as one person points out in the comments, it was a #scam from the #RoyalMint who sold £10 worth of silver for £100. They expected people to keep the coins but people bought them to spend. Since the spent coins would end up back at the Royal Mint, they ended up having to refund everyone. #News

I literally learnt more about that event from one commenter than the actual 'news' article.

Why don't newspapers actually explain anything? So many details, convenient or otherwise, missed out.
