I was looking at a website about the difference between #Britain and the #UK, which I sort of knew already but never really thought about.
Britain = The main blobby bit
The British Isles = The main blobby bit and all the little blobby bits surrounding it
The United Kingdom = The main blobby bit and all the little blobby bits plus Northern Ireland
So if Scotland gains independence from the UK, it would still be part of Britain (the main blobby bit).
@lydiaconwell Is that sort of the same deal as 'Europe' (the continent) that the UK is still part of anyway?
@trinsec I suppose. On Wikipedia it says a continent is a large body of land so technically the UK isn't part of Europe in that sense.
@lydiaconwell Wikipedia says a _little bit_ more than that, though. In your case, you'd regard Europe as continental Europe.
@trinsec Ya.
