Before him stood a bat-winged wolf, a devil and an angel; at this point a realization dawned.

The bard took a long moment to puzzle out the situation, "Don't I have to argue my life's decisions, be judged and then be lead to one of the three afterlives that you represent, assuming I can't convince you to allow me a few more mortal years?"

The wolf howled with laughter, and the angel smiled most wickedly.

The devil strode forward, "Mortal, your fate was decided long ago."

"Oh... Hell," sighed the bard, unsurprised.

"No, we're starting a band! We've been waiting for you for ages!"
