I like to think Russia doesn’t just get to destroy millions of lives on a whim and then go back to life as usual. I like to think Russia pays for this. Not because any price is high enough to fix the lives destroyed. But so Russia is made an example of. So no one ever tries this again.

@aral Isn't that kinda what they tried to do to Germany after the first world war.. and a few decades later we have the second world war as result?

Then after the second world war ended, USA set up that marshall plan to prevent exactly this from happening again?

@trinsec *sigh* I know. I don’t have high hopes for the species.

This isn’t just about Russia either. It’s a great battle between authoritarianism and democracy. And that’s one we’re losing to systemic inequality and capitalism on the best of days.
