@LittleTimmy My bro moved to Spain a few months ago and he's definitely embracing the solar energy. He has to because his new home's rural enough that he's not connected to the electricity grid. ;) But he's recently bought some more panels and installed them. They're having a nice amount of power now with big batteries! I think they could easily survive 5 days of rainy weather, for example.
@LittleTimmy Yeah, they have a generator where you need uhm... I dunno which, diesel? Something like that. But that costs fuel. They used that for a while before they definitely moved there. Now it's a backup thing. :)
I have solar panels myself as well, it's great! Gas prices don't affect me as badly in combination with tihs and the heat pumps I recently installed as well. I don't have as many solar hours as Spain does, but it helps. :D
@trinsec yeah, that’s the most common thing to do when you live in more isolated areas. It’s a large initial investement, but it ends up paying for itself. Especially in this recent times, where energy prices are exorbitant
