@trinsec Unfortunately due to some pain and rain I've only managed two rides in the past 3 weeks (same 80km ride), today included
@juliank That is indeed quite a long bike trip, yeah. Might even want some of the slightly more sugary drinks for the energy instead of plain water. Generally speaking plain water is perfectly fine, but if you're sweating a lot you need a bit more than that.
@trinsec No sugar in water when it's hot, might have to wash my head :D
I feel like there should be enough carbs, each Clif bar offered 45g and this was low intensity except for the climb in the middle (11.93km, 3.1%). Probably spent about 1500 kcal and consumed 813 in total, about half (no power meter).
Same for minerals, they're all in there.
More water would be needed.
@trinsec basically ride this every week with less food, ate more today. Only change was hot weather :(
@juliank Lol, showering with sugary water is indeed not recommended. :D Unless you're _really_ fond of insects!
About the sugary water, it wasn't really about the carbs but about the minerals themselves. I think having a little sachet of some sort of cup a soup might be a better idea. Something salty. In liquid form would be distributed through your body faster I think. But energy bars and lots of water work too I guess!
My country's too flat to climb anything. ;) If we suddenly needed to 'climb', we know we likely accidentally ended up in a neighbouring country!
@trinsec I think I should have had more than 1.5L of water for a 3h40m, 80km, 700m elevation bike ride in 25C sunny weather.
The 3 Clif bars were fine though, I think. Some bloks would be nice.
Allergies did not help.
