We went to IKEA today to buy some pillows and a light throw because sleeping in these temperatures requires not-a-duvet. While I was looking at something, I told the kids to go on to the plant section; I’d meet them there when I was done.

Long story short: we now own not one but two venus fly traps.

We bought live maggots to feed them.

I consider myself lucky, considering the oldest really wanted a tarantula, but they settled for a flesh-eating plant.
