Interesting article on 4 Twitter features Mastodon is better for not having:

1) Posts don’t show the number of replies/shares/likes until you click on them (you judge based on content instead of numbers)
2) You don’t get notified when people like replies to you (less stressful)
3) No quote tweets (ooooh this will make the vibe way different - no dunking)
4) No full-text search of the full network (use hashtags if you want to be seen)

@waiterich Keep in mind that this is about default Mastodon. There are modified instances around.

I know the Mastodon Glitch edition can do quote-toots. Our server (not Glitch, but it is modified) can do this too, but we have a STEM orientation, so a quote-toot is actually very useful to us.

I've known a few servers which can do full-text searches.

I do get notified when people like my replies. I think this is also the case in default Mastodon? Or have they changed that?

@trinsec Haven’t had enough conversations here yet to know! But good to know other instances have some of those features.

@waiterich I believe Mastodon Glitch might be one of the most used Mastodon forks around (I don't know for sure, it's just what I think). So if you're interested in knowing what it can do, the following link might be of interest:

Might give you an idea what else can be around.
