Actually I noticed this from the first Twitter wave.

I get many followers because they want me to follow back (I feel so used).

But the thing is, there's zero interaction after that. The new follower ignores all my posts and I'm not too interested in their posts.

So I end up unfollowing. Because it's the engagement that's important. You know, just commenting, answering my stupid questions, etc.

But just to get more followers ... ehh, not too interested. It's a bit boring, that.

Follow

@lydiaconwell I only follow when it's interesting to read their posts, and moreso when there's a chance I'd actually respond to their posts.

Why the hell would you want to follow otherwise?

@trinsec "I only follow when it's interesting to read"

Well you are following me!
