Wow, look what @Vivaldi integrating Mastodon into their browser did today. This is a list of which instances that saw new sign-ups today.

@thisismissem @Vivaldi I wasn't as usure the browser integration would be noticed or acted upon...but it sure seemed to be.
And last numbers I saw was Vivalid had over 2.3 million active monthly users. So this feels like a meaningful share of those daily users signed up.

Since I already had the Vivaldi account for mail, I didn't need to sign up for their Mastodon instance separately I could just log in. I imagine lowering that barrier to entry massively helped adoption rates.
