Bratäpfel in the making

For my English speaking followers: Today is a very common public holiday in Germany: #Weltbratapfeltag

It's very important to the most of us.
Germans usually celebrate this day by eating about 2Kg of apples per person and the same amount of ice-cream, vanilla sauce or marzipan while wearing a funny hat. Later in the evening most families dance around their oldest family member. In very traditional families he or her will be sacrificed to the apple god at midnight.
