Agreed, the plugins is what makes Obsidian so powerful. But in essence you can just use it like Joplin, without powerful plugins.

But yeah.. plugins.. :D

On the other hand, it doesn't make it that incompatible. Dataview is logical, you have key:: value, and that's all still readable and searchable without Dataview. Just no fancy lists anymore.

@trinsec @steffo @urusan I was looking into this last night because I love obsidian, but share the same fears about it's future.

It looks like there are workable methods to "burn" dataview queries into the note. That satisfies me. If I need to leave obsidian I can keep that data - even if it's not dynamic anymore.
