Adam Wolfe is one of those hidden object adventure games. You know the type. You have to search for clues, find something that unlocks something else, which then reveals a puzzle.
It’s about a supernatural private eye who must uncover the mysteries of his sister’s disappearance. If this sounds like X Files, well, yeah… they totally cribbed it from there. But to be sure, this game has more humour than X Files and also more a classical noirish art deco theme going on.
Personally, I love these types of games. They often get a bad rep because they’re low budget and they’re popular amongst “casual” (i.e., older women) gamers. Which is silly because, most of the time, these games are a lot more fun than the 278th most recent iteration of John Madden Football or Call of Duty.
That said, Adam Wolfe is much better made than most games in the genre. It’s got stellar voice acting, decent animations (for the style), and boss fights. You heard me, boss fights!
Works great on the Steam Deck. And really, any PC (Win XP) or Mac (10.6) as well. Minimum requirements are 1.5 Ghz CPU and 1 GB of RAM.
Highly recommended.
@atomicpoet Now hidden object games is a genre that I have played way too much of. 😅
Decent game, yeah.
