I find myself posting more often on LinkedIn after the #Twitter crackdown. Especially for longer posts, it is useful. I know, LinkedIn is a centralized company as Twitter is (was?). However it's hard to rewrite some posts to shorter versions. At least for me.

@grobmeier You can search for instances which have a longer post limit? Some Mastodon servers are modified to have a bigger limit. But I also know that servers like ... I think Misskey or Calckey or Pleroma? have a bigger limit by default.

@trinsec Oh... yes heard about this. Not sure on them. Maybe I should rewrite thoughts so it fits into the "standard"

@grobmeier 500 characters is a vanilla Mastodon standard. ActivityPub can handle much bigger posts as the non-Mastodon instances already have shown. ;)

The server I'm on, for example, can handle 65k characters. Not that I never needed that much, but hey the option is there! ;)
