Just an oddity to end the evening. This white bird, photographed a week ago in our back yard, is a gold-crowned sparrow, like the other birds in the picture. It's a leucistic sparrow rather than an albino as it does have some coloration on its wings and the eyes are not pink.
We've seen it a couple times since, but we don't expect it will live long, as every predator in the area can see it from far away.
So a toast to all the white sparrows among us. May you escape notice when necessary.
As an #introduction, I'm a code monkey to earn a living for me and my family. Early in my live I haverecognised that I know virtually nothing and that this world is a scary place for stupid people like me. Since then, I have been learning random things but only with limited success so far, I'm afraid.
