@alex "disabling shots" aren't real. I don't believe either of these people

@valleyforge @alex I am a vet. You shoot to kill. They tell us not to shoot to disable someone. When you point your weapon at someone, you shoot to kill

@verita84 @valleyforge @alex People who believe in “kneecapping” someone have never handled a weapon, can hardly blame them 🤷🏻‍♂️

@verita84 @valleyforge It wouldn’t surprise me if the screenshot is fake, idk. But I’ve thought before how it’s considered an honor to die for your country in the military, but not as a cop.

@alex @verita84 @valleyforge Because the military is aiming for kids. Shilling that idealism doesn’t work once you get on into your 20’s, your brain’s cooked a bit more.

@alex @verita84 @valleyforge it's certainly considered an honor to die as a cop where I live.

not that it really should be considered more of an honor than dying in any other job, but I digress
@mewmew @alex @valleyforge Can you blame police officers quitting? They are treated like crap in the media and by the people. Why should they police dangerous areas only to end up in Jail themselves? There are some bad actors but most are good people.
@verita84 @alex @valleyforge no, honestly I appreciate police officers quitting. If they can't do their job, they shouldn't have it.
@mewmew @alex @valleyforge They can do their job and they want to do their job. The important question is WHY should they stay in their job. Everyone is against them now.

@verita84 @mewmew @alex @valleyforge You shouldn’t ever trust the police, they’re an occupying force; a state-sponsored gang. Their job is to subjugate and incriminate anyone they deem a threat, and ask questions later.

I’m sure it sucks, but trusting them is dangerous for an individual’s health. You don’t get to Lord over the people of your community with fear and then complain that they resent you. Obviously they do, that’s the correct dynamic.

@valleyforge @mewmew @alex @verita84 I have to drive to go anywhere and I get oppressed every time I try to do so efficiently.

@boob @mewmew @alex @verita84 This is hilarious. 55 is efficient. You're trying to go fast

@valleyforge @mewmew @alex @verita84 The speed limits are set so low because these standards were set back when cars capped out at 80 and the law didn’t catch up.

When I am elected president I will raise the limit and abolish both speeding tickets and parking fines.

@alex @valleyforge I agree. I'd even argue that it is more dangerous to be a Cop because your life is in danger on a daily basis. In the military, your life is only in danger when you are deployed. You spend most of your time safe at a base.
@alex @valleyforge I haven't been in combat overseas, but we all are well versed in the ROE (Rules of Engagement) which governs what level of force one can employ and under what circumstances. The U.S. military treats the ROE very seriously. Depending on the type of war we are fighting, the ROE can differ. Street warfare in Iraq is going to have a higher requirement for use of deadly force to prevent death to noncombatants. When you are fighting against an assembled enemy, the ROE is going to instruct a lower requirement for use of deadly force. As well, when there is a possibility of misunderstanding, or confusion, the ROE may even have added controls to prevent use of deadly force.

Deadly force is pretty well defined too, and generally errs on the side of being deadly if there is doubt.

Firing a firearm (generally doesn't matter what direction)
Any attack to the head(including the butt or muzzle of a rifle)
Any attack using ballistics or explosives

I'm sure there's more though.

I don't know about the contents of the screenshot, but I do know ROE is taken very seriously, as does every member of the U.S. military (even if some few don't follow it and get court-martialed and go to military prison).
