If Amy Coney Barrett is the principled, eminently-qualified jurist we're told she is, she should prove it by refusing to be seated on the grounds that her appointment is a grave injustice.
@wjmaggos its dirty politics sure but calling it a grave injustice is hyperbolic
i see this argument. i wish we thought most of our foreign policy was considered a grave injustice.
but again, so much of how our government functions is on norms not laws. and when you violate them, it tears at the sense of good faith required for democracy and an open society, especially if over a third of Americans justify it.
