Given the fact that I see many people around here I am gonna tell you that the Feynman books (Lectures on Physics) were one of my favourites back in university. I still like coming back to them every time I have the chance to.

@virogo I know I will never be able to play golf or manage the math needed to understand quantum chromodynamics. I’m irked about equally by these personal shortcomings. But I do own a Folio Soc. (!) editon of Feynman’s Six Easy Pieces and Six Not-So-Easy Pieces (with an intro by Roger Penrose) that are basically selections from the Leighton/Sands transcripts. I managed the first half without too much trouble...

@pwgallagher Wow, that's so cool! The edition looks really great! Also, I am still studying math stuff and oh man, they really are a pain in the ass ;)

@virogo How does it compare to other books written by ... what I don't want to sound like a Broken Quantum record ... popular scientists.

@LWFlouisa I found them better than other popular books. This lectures are not hard to follow, I found them clear but precise!

@virogo very good books indeed. As are Feynman's less serious books/ lectures. The character of physical law is a great read.
