I have a question about thread replies.
When I click a post, my #mastodon instance doesn't pull in all replies. I'd say only about 60% of them. My #akkoma does even less, only an eye-balled 40%.
Why is that? Is that a configuration issue? I federate with everyone, so I should see everything, right? It should ask the remote instance for a list of replies. #ActivityPub can do that, right?

#Mastodon doesn't go out and ask the remote instance for a list of replies.
It shows the replies that it's heard through the normal broadcast of content, but it doesn't have a way to go out and find others.
