So... in today's news, the republican party is trying to loosen child labor laws to exploit, first immigrant children, then yours. After all, after they ban all the books, who needs school? We REALLY need to treat the republican party as a subversive cult and stop pretending otherwise.

You say this, and yet when I tune in to Republican media today they're really emphasizing the need to crack down on exploitation of immigrant children.
Commentators are emphasizing it after legislators in their committee meetings publicly criticized administration officials for their supposed roles in allowing or even promoting child exploitation of immigrants coming over the borders.
It's a case of how people live in two different worlds these days.
That kind of dovetails with my point.
If those speakers aren't even constrained to honesty, and they can say whatever they want, then their emphasis of the importance of child exploitation is even more likely reflective of their beliefs.
I mean, they absolutely get so much wrong. However, they're expressing strong opposition to child exploitation even if that exploitation only exists in their fever dreams.
@volkris My cynicism of the republican media is not without merit. They will seemingly make a passionate plea against child exploitation while their main objective is to eliminate immigration of non-white people. They don't give a damn about child exploitation. It just gives them a reason to discriminate against people who do not look like them.
