Well the whole point of end-to-end encryption is that we don't have to answer that question.

No I'm not taking the word of a tweet for it, but I would expect some independent analysis to look at how they E2E feature seems to operate, just like I would for any other company or developer.
@volkris given how poorly Twitter has fared, both ethically and technically, since Musk took over, I wouldn't even trust an independent analysis. He could replace any tested version of the software with a broken one at any time.
Not necessarily. It depends on how the software is distributed and such.
@volkris so do I have to stop updating my Android Twitter app (for example) because I know the one I have was independently analyzed and don't trust Musk not to break it in a future version that may not be analyzed? Or do I have to constantly follow news about people analyzing the latest version before I upgrade? If I'm asking myself these troubling questions, that's already too many doubts in my mind to trust any version of the app.

If you have a version that you are comfortable with, and you are uncomfortable with what might be in future versions, don't install the future versions.
