@ProPublica I would truly love for this to happen.
But I also fully expect the southern states to just refuse to make any changes at all. Just delay after delay until the election is over. Refuse tot ale any action claiming “it is too close to the election to make changes now!”
Then repeat for 2026.
Or just pretend it does not apply to them.
An illegal election can't elect legal representatives.
Anyone elected under an invalid system would have no legal claim to office.
It would be like me declaring myself the winner of an election and showing up to Congress. I wouldn't be admitted because I wouldn't have the legal claim to office.
