Truth is a scarce and valuable commodity in America. It is not easily found in the media, which often distorts or omits facts to fit a certain agenda. It is not reliably delivered by the political parties, which have their own interests and biases. It is more likely to be encountered at the local coffee shop, where ordinary people share their experiences and opinions without fear or favor.
The problem is that so many of those people formed their opinions based exactly on those other sources that you rightfully criticize.
In this Internet age we have so many public records instantly available at our fingertips, directly from primary sources.
That's where I'd suggest to go looking for truth.

If I need to know what a Supreme Court ruling says, I should simply go read the Supreme Court ruling from their website.
