U.S. House Republicans propose planting a trillion trees as they move away from climate change denial.

The AP reports: "The party is no longer denying that global warming exists, yet is searching for a response to sweltering summers, weather disasters and rising sea levels that doesn’t involve abandoning their enthusiastic support for American-produced energy from burning oil, coal and gas."

So the land for these trillion trees is where? At 500 trees per acre that's two billion acres.

And the 25 years before they capture sufficient carbon is a free pass from global warming?

And FF use will continue?
As will FF subsidies?
And FF exploration and extraction will increase.

It seems U.S. House Republicans can almost do thinking.

Sounds like these news articles are overstating what happened for the sake of getting articles out and getting clicks.

As far as I can tell these reporters are taking an off the cuff remark and treating it like a real proposal, when it's not.
