It also involved #CentralBankers, financiers in #UK and #USA including the #BankOfEngland, and #industrialists that wanted to exploit #Europe's resources, including #oilMerchants like the #BushCrimeFamily.

Today many make a mistake of calling these industrialists '#capitalists'. They are not 'capitalist'. When corporatists merge with govt, that's '#fascism'.

But when we elect *and reelect* the government representatives who push for this stuff, that's not fascism, that's democracy.

It's our fault for electing these people.

@volkris
Thanks Volkris,

Fascism is simply the melding of govt with big business. How it does that is not so important.

Often distraction is used, #identityPolitics falls into the category of distraction, and can have the added benefit of dividing people. Atomisation and #socialDivision can also be done with #copaganda designed to keep people in a state of fear and unable to organise a local resistance.

@dsfgs

I don't think that's a common definition of the term fascism.

Certainly the images that come to mind involve authoritarians who don't care so much about promoting business.

@volkris

Government melding with big business is what fascism is. The rest is theatre, ie.the way they do it without people rising up en masse. Ie. it is often *characterised with race-baiting, control of media, and divisive politics but they are to create a false sense of unity. Ie. hating #minorities is a means to consolidate more wealth, power and thus control over people.

Such methods were refined over the 20th century, see #edwardBernays and #SigmundFreud.

@volkris
They don't need to be "promoting businesses", they just need to profit by them.

The first 85 minutes of Rich Man's Trick by Francis Richard Conolly (2014) are very informative on this topic.
