@taylorlorenz so he does not like peer review and would like to buy his post with his merits. Unfortunately, he cannot buy Wikipedia. Wait until he finds out that he cannot buy the #Fediverse.
@prefec2 the complaint is not about peer review considering that Wikipedia is not edited by peers.
It seems he doesn't like hierarchy where folks get to the top without regard for the quality of their work, which is a pretty fair complaint.
@volkris @taylorlorenz Not in a scientific sense, but editors have been authors in the past and have been elected or otherwise selected by others for their post. M. is just jumping on the bandwagon criticising Wikipedia, as he does not like his entry. While there is legit critique regarding Wikipedia. This is not. Clearly indicated by the reference to merit which equals with money and status, and has nothing to do with one's hard work.
@prefec2 you're ducking his point, though.
Musk says WP is inherently hierarchical, and your reply here basically confirmed that by describing how the hierarchy is organized.
Alright.
Musk goes on to say that the people higher in the hierarchy, the ones you said were elected or selected, show up with their biases, which is only human. You didn't address that, but it was his point.
I also see that the screenshot cuts off something about community notes, which is probably key context to his statement.
@prefec2 I get the impression from the screenshot that he was beginning to provide the alternative, but whoever took the screenshot cut it off @taylorlorenz
@volkris @taylorlorenz I do not know whether X has a collapsing feature or the three ... are part of the post. (Un)fortunately, I cannot check this on X as I no longer have an account there.
@volkris @taylorlorenz oh you're right. I did. Sorry.
However, he still did not provide an alternative and I still doubt his motives.
