@arstechnica What if instead of batteries, we just invested in electric rail and lower the demand for individual vehicles? I know this is just an article but all these auto plants could easily be retooled. We need to build that demand instead of battery demand

@marxistvegan the problem is that rail isn't flexible enough, doesn't support the diversity of wants and lifestyles of humanity.
Rail is great in areas where there's a lot of conformance. But there are real downsides to systems built around such conformity.
