For this left-leaning spectator to U.S. politics, it somehow feels totally weird to be rooting for "blue" candidates rather than for red (or green or yellow or orange) ones

@paul_hutchinson yeah, and if you're not familiar with the history, the red/blue color codes were settled on surprisingly recently.
I believe it was in the 90s, if I recall correctly.
Growing up I believe I remember the colors changing back and forth a bit.
