@bedirthan @fediversereport Technically #Bluesky is a defederated software/platform, as they use the #AuthenticatedTransferProtocol (or #ATProtocol): atproto.com/guides/overview

Realistically I do not see many servers running the software, so it might as well be centralized.

@darnell @fediversereport owned and operated by a billionaire, limited membership in closed ecosystem until this week, no one uses their protocol

and certainly not part of the fediverse and never intends to be.

For all the angst that Threads gets in the Fediverse the unwavering support for Bluesky due to some future intent to be decentralized is sure something

@bedirthan you're referring to only one Bluesky installation and ignoring the rest of the system.

That's akin to talking as if Fediverse was only a single instance.

It's not an accurate description of the platform.
