@katrinakatrinka Well right I never said Congress elects the president.

But Congress does hold the president accountable through things like legal negotiations, budgetary negotiations, and if it comes down to it, impeachment.

And yes, separately, the president is held accountable through the election process, through the EC.

So both avenues are vital to holding the president accountable for the actions of the branch that he is charged with overseeing.

That is how it is meant to work, but it only works if we all recognize those checks on presidential power, and on the power of the executive branch that operates through the president.
