@Free_Press These are not really rejection votes! Most Haley voters including Haley herself will vote for Trump when he is declared the nominee….
@Daniel_Keppler Yeah but he's going to need a lot more than that to actually win the presidency, which is the whole problem.
It doesn't look like Trump can win it. Folks voting for Trump for Republican nominee might be handing the presidency to the Democrats.
@Daniel_Keppler I don't think it's going to be a great year for Dems but rather the continuation of a bad, what, decade? For Reps.
With both parties mired in mud, well that turns it into a bad time for us all.
I sure wish Dems had a decent candidate, but so far it's looking like they have a bench that is merely less awful, and only buy a hair.
Heck, even the missteps involved in the different prosecutions of Trump show that Democrats aren't exactly working with world-class figures. I'm afraid they're botching those prosecutions too.
@volkris @Daniel_Keppler @Free_Press Even if some Dems might have wished to have real primaries with several candidates early on, it doesn’t mean that they do not stand behind Biden in the general election. Not only will he have full support of his party but, many Inds and Reps will vote for him to make sure Trump stays out of public office and in prison.
@volkris @Daniel_Keppler @Free_Press Regarding the DoJ and in a State of Law, unfortunately, we have to deal with every delay and sideshow Trump and his cronies throw across the main path. It should be assuring to everyone to see that we have a judicial system that is quite independent and functions as expected.
@volkris @Daniel_Keppler @Free_Press To think that the Dems are somehow running the DoJ is an insult to every employee of this department and the law profession in general. Like a pilot or a doctor, a lawyer is trying to do the best possible job and knows they have to apply an independent mind to every case even if they hate the individual they are prosecuting or defending.
@Daniel_Keppler he doesn't have full support of his party now!
Polling shows that an enormous proportion of the Democrat party doesn't support the guy.
@volkris @Daniel_Keppler @Free_Press Polls are made to manipulate the masses! #CNN and other media pick the polls that fit their narrative. Check how each time they pick a different polling agency….
@Daniel_Keppler That's the line the Democrats have spun, but they are lying.
They want to act like they have no control, but they absolutely do, as they have both the reins of the executive branch and an enormous amount of power in the legislative branch.
With control of the senate and enough in the House that they could do whatever they wanted with support from just a couple of representatives that they could pick off, Democrats have been in a pretty good position of power, that they have squandered for political reasons, acting as if they don't, because the American public would buy it.
No, it's not reality. That's not how the government operates, unless the Democrats want to act like they are feeble instead of actually getting their priorities laid before the government.
They are spinning a lie that relies on folks not realizing how the government works.
@volkris @Daniel_Keppler I’m afraid I have a hard time following your meandering thoughts but I read a lot of frustration and distrust in them. Negativity doesn’t lead anywhere; it spirals downwards; it is not constructive and it should not be an excuse for adopting extreme views and violent actions. Let’s talk again after the elections. 😉
@Daniel_Keppler let's be clear that there is a positive here: we should be pressing our representatives to use the levers that they absolutely have to do good things.
It's the negative side of the coin that they have been neglecting their duties. The positive side, though, is that they have the power to do good if only we would demand that they do instead of accepting their excuses.
@volkris @Daniel_Keppler @Free_Press For any party it is impossible to govern when the opposition party is a foul player like the Reps have been. Under these circumstances Biden and his administration have done a tremendous job. The US had a President in a wheelchair during WWII, it did not prevent them from winning the war. Biden might still stutter or stumble from time to time, but - unlike Trump - he has a brain, uses it and shows the world that it functions perfectly.
