It's really becoming apparent how much of a disconnect there is between major news reporting and the actual behavior of Trump as a person.
He’s increasingly incoherent in stump speeches, slurring his words, mangling different half-sentences together in ways that are often unintelligible, continually making bizarre gaffs, speaking in weird voices and making wacky hand gestures. The dude is not well!
Yet I go to CNN, Politico…crickets. Still covering the campaigns like it’s business as usual.
If literally *any* other presidential candidate were performing only 20% as bonkers nuts as Trump is, it would be front page headlines.
How can it be that this sort of performance is normalized? If I weren’t following independent media who watches this stuff like a hawk…if I were just casually gleaning snippets of info from the CNNs of the world now and then like many Americans do, I just wouldn't have any idea how unhinged Trump actually sounds every day.
This ain't right, folks. ☹️
Setting aside Trump's stated political goals…just observing him as a human being, it seems beyond obvious to me that he's deteriorated considerably from 2016 Trump. That person *did* seem strong, capable, self-assured, and relatively convincing as a communicator.
Trump today sounds like he can barely collect his thoughts, like at times he's physically struggling to vocalize. He's unable to hold a concept in his mind long enough to express that concept in a coherent manner. It's embarrassing!
Why is he like this now?
Is it his age?
Is it drugs?
It it stress from all the legal fights?
Is it simply mental exhaustion he doesn't want to acknowledge?
Is it literally a physical ailment of some kind?
More to the point:

@jaredwhite I at least consider the theory that he's behaving like this because after years of positive reinforcement he just realizes that if he acts this way it gets the crowd stirred up, so he does.
In the past there have been times when he has coherently stated a position that his own supporters didn't like, so he had to kind of walk it back. But, if he just remains incoherent he lets the supporters fill in the blank with what they want him to have said, so he stays out of trouble that way.
It might be a learned behavior just from years of getting ahead by doing it.
