How is this #federation with #threads working? Going to links like https://mstdn.social/@potus@threads.net just redirect pe to the #threads website instead of seeing the account through #mastodon

Federation with threads is disabled on this instance, as a result of a poll last year and lack of transparency from meta how they will handle our data.
We on this instance wont be able to see posts from threads or send posts to threads, so that is why a redirect is made instead.
We wont block or banish any instance only because they interact with threads, even if some do
@shellheim basically, the instance that you signed up to is censoring what you can see.
Hopefully that is a policy that the particular users of that instance want in place, but that's how it works on this platform, it's all up to the instance.
You go directly to matdn.social then you are bypassing your instances' restrictions.
