9 people were injured, including 2 young children & their mother, after a #shooter opened fire at a #SplashPad in a #Detroit suburb.
The #MassShooting happened just after 5PM at a city park featuring a rec area w/nonslip surface where people can turn on sprays & fountains to play. The attack appeared random. The shooter drove up to the park, walked to the splash pad & fired as many as 28X, stopping mult times to reload.

An 8-yr-old boy was shot in the head & in critical condition Sat night, Oakland County Sheriff Bouchard said during a news conference. The boy’s mother also was in critical condition after being wounded in the abdomen & leg, & his 4-yr-old brother was in stable condition w/a leg wound.
The other 6 victims, all 30+, were in stable condition. They included a husband-&-wife couple & a 78-yr-old man.
≥1 witness reported the #shooter appeared to use 2 handguns.
The gunman was “apparently in no rush. Just calmly walked back to his car,” the sheriff said.
Police heard the 911 call as it came in, bc the agency uses a service that simultaneously sends emergency calls to first responders. An officer was at the scene w/in 2 mins.
The first deputies who arrived immediately began providing first aid, incl tourniquets. Authorities found a handgun, 3 empty magazines & ≥28 spent shell casings.
Sat’s #shooting came at the end of the first full week of summer vacation for students attending Rochester Community schools.
Rochester Hills is about 15 miles (24 km) south of Oxford, where in 2021 a 15-yr-old fatally shot 4 high school students.
“We’ve gone through so many tragedies,” Sheriff Bouchard said. “You know, we’re not even fully comprehending what happened at Oxford. And, you know, now we have another complete tragedy that we’re dealing with.”

But no, that's not at all what happened.
The people we elect to Congress, and keep reelecting, wrote a law such that bump stocks were legal. And we reelected them anyway.
We should stop reelecting morons.
We should not let them escape accountability by blaming the courts for their own actions in office.
