🤔🧵 1/?

Overhearing an exhausted worker saying they were out too late last evening and didn't get enough sleep.
Employers: "we need to work longer hours b/c productivity must be increased" - a rhetoric often pushed by #Conservatives like #PierrePoilievre and #news outlets parrot the same.
Productivity drops when employees are exhausted.
When do we find the time to relax and time for introspection as employers demand more of our time?

What is the impact on the #climate when we are working and playing 24/7?

#Conservative politicians like #Poilievre and #Trump claim they want to "return to family values but at the same time they push for longer work days, bust unions, and want to increase the use of fossil fuels--how do any of those ideas improve the lives of families when parents are absent more hours and return home too exhausted to care for their children.

@Snowshadow where do conservatives push for that?

I think you might be misunderstanding their actual positions.

@volkris
I think you misunderstand the reason for my thread. My comments are not directed towards anyone who is politically aware I am trying to get through to conservative supporters.

Follow

@Snowshadow I don't know how you expect to get through to conservative supporters if you're not speaking their language, though.

I don't think what you're saying is the position of conservatives, so you're not going to get through to them because they're just going to ignore you, because they will perceive you as talking past them.

It's really easy for a conservative supporter to just say, well that's not my position so....

@volkris
I think you need to listen to to conservatives and their messaging at their rallies.

@Snowshadow I listen to conservatives every single day, and that's what I'm trying to tell you, it doesn't sound like you do.

To be clear, Trump does not represent the conservative perspective. He is an idiot who parrots back the little bit that he understands, and so often conservatives end up correcting him when he gets it wrong. And I'll emphasize that: Trump gets to conservative perspective wrong very often and ends up being corrected by conservatives. He's just that dumb.

But that's one reason not to listen to rallies because the rallies often enough end up being the speaker, Trump I assume, vomiting out stuff that isn't actually the conservative position.

That's the thing about Trump. He's not actually a good conservative. And the best way to counter Trump is to emphasize that he is not a good conservative, to emphasize to conservatives that he doesn't actually represent them.

Unfortunately so many people end up promoting Trump to conservatives by buying into this position.

@volkris

"good conservatives" no longer exist.
Not in the US, not here in Canada. They have relinquished the party name and power to the MAGAs. Period.

My last point is this

Project 2025

We are done with our conversation

@Snowshadow with so many conservatives flat out rejecting project 2025 I don't know how your stance stands

@volkris
You certainly don't understand when people set boundaries do you!
bye.

@volkris

I copied and pasted this from your profile:
"If anyone is fascist in this arrangement, it’s Biden."
from another post:
"We really need to be holding folks like #Biden accountable for their screwups, and ...

Go back to your Russian masters

I am tired of your rhetoric about the true conservative party being alright.
Stay the hell off my timeline and my posts

@Snowshadow what in the world are you talking about?

Just misconstruing what I have written, messaging me privately, and then complaining when I respond?

Dude, that's not the Russian Masters being involved. That's just normal discourse. I'm sorry if you don't like humans talking.
